I was in a 1970’s Jesus Music band called, Children of the Light. Soon after we stopped touring in 1978, I went into a studio and recorded a batch of songs I’d written that we never got around to as a group. I laid them down with just my voice over either piano or guitar, and these tunes have remained unembellished for all this time. But I recently decided to try my hand at using an A.I. music tool to complete them.
The learning curve and limitations of the technology required me to spend many, many, many hours in front of my computer, but I had a blast seeing these songs reborn. I’ve caught myself laughing out loud with pure joy when I’ve been able to coax the A.I. to make them sound the way I’ve always heard them in my head. And I’ve also shed a lot of “good” tears when my throat tightened with emotion and my eyes leaked as I relived the experiences with Jesus that birthed them.
And even though the style of the music is dated, I believe the songs remain relevant because of their lyrics. I’m sharing them here with the hope they may be a blessing to you.
