The Salt Company in Hollywood, one of the earliest Christian coffee houses of the Jesus Movement, opened in 1968. We (COTL) played there several times beginning in January 1971 when I was 15 and shared a bill with Randy Stonehill. Back in those days, we often covered secular artists to build audience rapport before sharing our original Jesus Music.
