Helplessly Hoping

Helplessly Hoping

The Salt Company in Hollywood, one of the earliest Christian coffee houses of the Jesus Movement, opened in 1968. We (COTL) played there several times beginning in January 1971 when I was 15 and shared a bill with Randy Stonehill. Back in those days, we often covered secular artists to build audience rapport before sharing our original Jesus Music. Here's a recording from the Salt Co. of us covering "Helplessly Hoping" written by Stephen Stills and originally recorded by Crosby, Stills, and Nash.
